Pipe Rush

Pipe Rush: a pipe puzzle game where the water won't wait

Pipe Rush is a pipe puzzle game with a countdown: a valve sits on one edge of the grid, a drain on another, and you have a few seconds to build a route between them before the water starts running. Pieces arrive from a queue, so you plan with what you are given rather than what you would like. Clear a level and the next one gives you less time, faster water and a longer route to build.

Pipe Rush grid with a blue water valve, a drain, gray rocks and a flow countdown, with the queue of next pipe pieces on the left

How to play

  1. Look at the queue: it shows the next four pipe pieces.
  2. Tap any piece in the queue to turn it a quarter turn, as often as you like, for free.
  3. Tap an empty square to lay the front piece there, working from the valve toward the drain.
  4. If no square suits the front piece, press Skip to discard it for 5 points.
  5. When the countdown ends, the water flows; reach the drain without a leak to clear the level.

What it exercises

Under the time pressure sits a real routing problem, the kind a plumber solves on paper, and solving it quickly is what the game rewards.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a pipe puzzle game online free with no download?

Pipe Rush is one. It runs right in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, costs nothing and shows no ads.

How do you play the pipe game?

Join the water valve to the drain with a continuous run of pipes before the countdown ends. An open end, a joint that does not line up, a pipe that leads off the grid, or a route that runs back into itself makes a leak and costs one of your three lives.

Is it a water pipe game online free for any level of player?

Yes. The first levels use a 6x6 grid, a long countdown and only a couple of rocks. The grid grows to 7x7 at level 4 and 7x8 at level 7, and from level 3 the route must pass through a minimum number of pipes.

Can every level of this pipe connect puzzle be solved?

Yes. Each layout is generated from a working route first, rocks are only placed off that route, and the opening queue deals the pieces it needs in time.

How is the score counted?

Each pipe the water runs through is worth 10 points, and starting the flow early adds a bonus. Skips and replaced pipes cost 5 points each.

Can I use a keyboard?

Yes. Press R to turn the front piece in the queue.
