Word Order: a word memory game about keeping things in sequence
Word Order is a word memory game that tests not only which words you saw but the order they came in. A short list appears with each word numbered, you study it, and then the words reappear mixed in a grid for you to tap in their original sequence. As you progress the lists grow longer, so holding the order takes more care.

- Your answer is checked as soon as every word has been placed.
What it exercises
Sequence memory is a different job from remembering a set, and this game focuses on exactly that difference.
Verbal working memory
You hold several words in mind for a short time and then reproduce them, which is the classic shape of a memory span task.
Serial order
Knowing the words is not enough. You also keep track of first, second and third, which is easy to mix up as the list grows.
Focus under time
The memorize phase is short, so you learn to give the list your full attention for those few seconds.
Tips
- Link the words into a quick mental story in the order they appear: a cat opens a door, finds a lamp.
- Say the list to yourself once or twice, with the numbers, before the grid appears.
- Chunk longer lists into groups of two or three words and remember the groups in order.
- Start tapping with the first word you are sure of, then rebuild the rest step by step.
- If a list leaves you blank in this word order game, use Skip question and start fresh on the next one.
